FEST4KIDZ

Jennifer Rooney, a New Orleans local and long time supporter of all things Jazz Fest, established Fest4Kidz in 2007, in response to a call from Threadheads to help disadvantaged kids have a ‘Day at Jazz Fest’. In 2014, about 40 children plus their chaperones were able to attend a day at New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival through the Fest4Kidz program.

“If only one child becomes interested in music and chooses a drum over a drug, picks up a trumpet instead of a gun, our efforts will not be in vain.”

The ‘Day at Jazz Fest’ experience includes an entry ticket for a child and their chaperone, a Fest4Kidz tee shirt and a little spending money to sample some of the tastes of Fest.

By becoming a Member of Threadhead Cultural Foundation, you will help us encourage the continued growth of the New Orleans music culture and inspire the younger generation to keep the music alive.
